These Terms of Use govern access to and use of TidesAtlas.com, an international tide times service providing tidal data, coefficients, and marine information for coastlines worldwide.

Article 2 — Acceptance

By accessing and using this website, you accept these terms without reservation. The publisher reserves the right to modify them at any time. Changes take effect upon publication.

Article 3 — Service Description

TidesAtlas.com provides:

  • Tide times (high and low water) for thousands of ports worldwide
  • Tidal coefficients and water heights
  • Spring tide calendars
  • Practical information about ports and coastlines
  • A paid REST API for programmatic data access

Article 4 — Data Disclaimer

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER:

Tide predictions are calculated using harmonic models (TICON-4 database, CC BY 4.0). They are provided for informational purposes only.

Accuracy: times may vary by ±30 minutes and heights by ±50 cm depending on local weather conditions.

Do not use for:

  • Professional or recreational maritime navigation
  • Activities involving personal safety
  • Maritime or port engineering works
  • Any professional decision requiring certified data

Always consult the official hydrographic authority in your country for certified data.

Article 5 — Limitation of Liability

The publisher accepts no liability for any direct or indirect damage resulting from the use of data from the website or API, including service interruption or data inaccuracy. Users access the service at their own risk.

Article 6 — Intellectual Property

All website content is protected by intellectual property law. Unauthorised reproduction is prohibited.

Article 7 — API Usage

Access to the TidesAtlas API requires registration and selection of a pricing plan. Users agree to:

  • Respect the call quotas defined by their subscription plan
  • Not redistribute raw data without authorisation
  • Credit "TidesAtlas" as the source in any publication using the data
  • Not use the API for unlawful purposes

The publisher reserves the right to suspend any API account for non-compliance, without notice.

Article 8 — Personal Data

Browsing the site requires no registration. Only an email address is collected when registering for the API. Under the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, and deletion. Contact: support@tidesatlas.com.

Article 9 — Availability

The service is provided "as is". No guarantee of permanent availability is given. Interruptions for maintenance may occur without the publisher being held liable.

Article 10 — Governing Law

These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, jurisdiction is granted to the French courts following an attempt at amicable resolution.
